BIO

Dr Ayesha Fuentes is an objects conservator and material historian originally from Washington State, USA. She has a BA in art and religion from Williams College (2003), a MA in history of art from Tufts University (2011) and a MA from the University of California Los Angeles/Getty Conservation Institute program in the conservation of archaeological and ethnographic materials (2014).  

She completed her PhD at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London in 2021 and is currently the Isaac Newton Trust Research Associate in Conservation at the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology at the University of Cambridge.

Ayesha has worked with sites and collections in the US, UK, China, Sri Lanka, Cambodia, Bhutan and Sudan and has been an active member in professional communities like the International Council of Museums Committee for Conservation (ICOM-CC), International Institute for Conservation (IIC), Museum Detox and Museum Ethnographers Group.
